Rengganis Peak, Situbondo, Indonesia

Rengganis Peak

Mount Argopuro is one of the volcanic mountains that still active in East Java. It is about 2,300 km above the sea level. As a Natural Resource Conversation, mount Argopuro is worth to visiting especially for those who like hiking or mount climbing. As well as historical heritages of Blambangan kingdom and Dutch colonial, there is also a dry lake over there.

Mount Argopuro is an animal preservation area because of the population of peacocks and the beauty is so spectacular due to some reason: First, the hiking adventure of Rengganis Peak will give a special challenge to climbers because they will need at least three days round trip. Second, to reach Rengganis Peak, you have to pass Sikasur, a very wide savannah (50 ha), which used to be local airport for the Dutch military airplanes and this was the only one airport located on a mountain peak in Indonesia. Besides the peak, it is also an area of the spreading Edelweiss and will make you impressed.

On the Rengganis Peak, you will also find an old building of the kingdom Rengganis Goddess - 2,300 meters above the sea level. To reach the peak, you can start from the nearest Hotels at Pasir Putih Resort. From Pasir Putih, you can take a bus going to Surabaya bat you get off at Besuki bus Station, above 15 km and the bus fare is 2,500 rupiahs. From the bus station, you can used public transportation (bemo) to Baderan village and the distance is about 22 km and the fee is 5,000 rupiahs.

The hiking route to peak will be better being started at 6 in the morning because you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mount Argopuro and also will better if you hire a guide or a porter that will help you language. You can pay above 35,000 rupiahs for per person each day including their catering. From Baderan, you can start to hike to the Second Spring (Mata Air Kedua), the distance is 6.5 km and it takes 6 hours, then you can spend the night around the Second Spring. If you are strong enough, it will be better if you go straight to Sikasur (it is above 8.5 km from the Second Spring) and you can spend the night over there. Then you can continue your hiking to Rengganis Peak and it takes about 5 hours.

It will be better if you do not spend the night on the peak because of the very cold weather and the extreme wind velocity. After reaching the peak, you can return to Sikasur and spend the night there and the next day you can return to Baderan before coming back to Pasir Putih.

Pudak: Gresik Traditional Food

Pudak is typical food from Gresik town, East Java, Indonesia, made from rice powder, sugar and coconut mink be then wrapped with palm leaf. Also there is with material rice powder is changed with sago. Pudak actually very snugly for by by for they from outside town remembers this food can stay up to having days without special pickling and without lessening to feel and its(the enjoyment.

Even can told as food typical of Gresik town, for very new man to visit this town I am sure of difficulty looks for and gets it, remember as far as I know, selling pudak there's only in area Jl. Sindujoyo ( Market area Gresik town ) and partly small around Veteran road(street. Don't know because its minim attention from government or is, so that food this feels as is pulled over. you can imagine how town outsider knows about pudak, lha wong in situs Government Gresik x'self is not has ever studied this food.

Cigars are made of rolled dried tobacco leaves. Nusantara Plantation Corporation 10 lies eight kilometers north of Jember. The cigars are exported to Europe, America and Australia. However, it also produces Indonesian cigars for domestic consumption. All visitors can see the process of cultivating seedlings, drying tobacco leaves, picking as well as the making of cigars. Dutch visitors can especially enjoy the nostalgia of the site as they participate in the agro tourism. The first people who introduced the process of tobacco cultivation were the Dutch. Jember became known to Europeans as the “Tobacco city” particularly in Germany. To reach the Nusantara Plantation the visitors can take public transportation from downtown.

Next south of Bojonegoro city about 13 km, there is nature tourism object and artificial tourism object, precise in Dander village, Dander district, that famous with Tirtawana, Tirta meaning Water and Wana meaning that the Forest. It’s mean that there is water in the forest. Tirta Wana Dander is a tourism object that has full of nature panorama that very beautiful, because there are many big trees and shady also tropical plants that made the air becomes cool and fresh. Here has built very wide swimming pool, that consisted of two parts, west side is for the women and child then east side is for the adult. Because of its beauty of nature and its coolness air, then in the holiday, the tourists often visit Tirtawana Dander.

Tirtawana Dander also equipped with a place to play, to camp, provided by golf-course for who have hobby to played golf. The visitors come to this tourism object are to relax, swimming, or play golf.

This place has its unique geographical because its fresh nature. The pool is taken from the natural water source that very clean and clear so that we will feel fresh if we take a bath in this poll.

There is some support equipments, such as; toilet, float, jump board, playground, shelter, kiosks, meeting room, golf field, camping ground, etc.
