Navy Museum Surabaya

Museum TNI-AL Loka Jala Crana




At early begin, Loka Jala Crana Museum was build on September 19 1969 by the name of Navy Museum, which is legalized by Mrs. R Mulyadi. According to its name, the navy museum was dedicated to the navy cadets as a history lesson to study for. As the time goes by, the museum change become TNI-AL Museum or Navy Museum on July 10, 1973. Finally, on the last changes this museum is already change to be Navy Loka Jala Crana Museum on October 6, 1979.



Loka Jala Crana Museum is located in Morokrembangan, at Krembangan Sub-district, Surabaya and under the Naval Academy and Command, Education & Navy Development for soldier, sergeant and officer. The resident is famous by "Bumi Moro" Surabaya This museum is remind the history about Navy, which is about Physical Revolution and this museum also has collections that connected with the revolution, including of cannon warships, aircraft, helicopters, Amphibious Tank PT 76, field artillery and air defense, firearms; from pistols to ancient automatic long-barrel which probably can not be found in other places. Beside, there is also a KRI miniature ship war which is compact with mirror frames. The miniature made by the original fleet that used to strengthen the Republic of Indonesia.



Loka Jala Crana museum collections' mainstay is cannon which is derived from warship "De Zeven Provincien" type Destroyers. This cannon was remain the struggle of Indonesian sailors Which defeated the Dutch East Indies warships on February 4, 1933.



At this museum, The most exciting rides and liked by the visitors is the Planetarium, which is simulations that show the stars or anything on outer space. Visitors are being invited to wander the universe and to understand the concept of universe system. The dome-shaped roof and a semi-circle around walls are decorated with all the zodiac like Virgo, Sagittarius and Gemini.



After that, there is also a famous of Indonesian Dewaruci ship replica, the original is still on the track until this present time. The ship is being functioned to train the cadet to go sailing for months. Navy museum is such an action movie remaining the struggle of Indonesian Navy. By this museum existence, hope that people nowadays will acknowledge the meaning of ancient heroes' fight, especially for Indonesian Navy.
