Here Go Tambakrejo

Tambakrejo Beach is located about 30 km from Blitar city, in Tambakrejo village, Wonotirto district. In this location, in every first Suro month (the new year in Java calendar) is performed a "Larung Sesaji" ceremony, and visited by thousands people from various areas.



The south sea (Indonesia Ocean) waves splashing and the sunshine in the evening, make the situation feel peaceful. It is compatible for the townsman who had bored with the metropolitan life. They can enjoy the natural beach with its beautiful waves and beautiful sunset. The visitor can make some activities in this beach such as; swimming, sun bathing, fishing, canoeing, etc. Tambakrejo Beach has white sandy that spread along about 10 km. The wave is also not dangerous for the visitors who want to swim here.



There is rubber forest around the beach that adds its beautiful nature. And through the way you can see the dry lime hill. When arrive at the beach, the visitors can see the blue sea and canoe that already to accompanied to the sea. You can enjoy the fresh morning air and seafood in Tambakrejo Beach. Sawentar Temple Blitar

Sawentar Temple



Sawentar Temple is located at Sawentar village, Kanigoro district, to the east of Blitar. The temple shows similarities in form to Kidal temple. A tentative date of around the early to mid 13th century has consequently been assigned to it. The base of the temple lies several meters below the present ground level, a result of having been buried under a mass of lava, presumably from an eruption of nearby Mt Kelud. The site was excavated during the early years of this century. This temple seems reside on a pool. At first found, the temple had covered by mount dust.



Sawentar temple is also called as Cungkup temple. A small yoni pedestal lying within the temple's central chamber depicts a figure of Garuda, suggesting that the monument was dedicated to the god Wishnu. The key keeper is enjoy to tell about the history of Sawentar temple and around it. This temple has often visited by many Hinduism people. Some of them have stay for a minutes and having some ceremony, sit in front of the gate and pray.

Peta Monument Blitar





PETA Monument



In 1945, Blitar city has become the center of PETA rebellion army, fight against Japan army that is leading by a Soedanco Soepriyadi. To honor the hero, it built a Monument, which located in front of ex-PETA station, precisely in Soedanco Soepriyadi Street.



The monument is formed a man statue that raise his right hand, as the symbol that he never give up to fight. The statue seems wear Japan army uniform, complete with his hat. This monument is aimed to memorized this hero in order to support the young generations spirit in continue Indonesia struggle to become a great country.

Soekarno's Museum

One of the tourist attractions in Blitar municipality is the tomb of Soekarno, an Indonesian proclamation reader and the first President of the Republic of Indonesia. It is located at 60 Slamet Riyadi Street, Bendogerit village, Sunan wetan district, about 2 kilometers from Blitar city.



The architectural "Joglo" dominates the tomb. It is in East Javanese style and combined with Gateway of Bentar. Beside the main building formed cover grave house of ‘Bung Karno’, this graveyard complx also completed with support building that is; Gapura Agung (The Great Gate), Mosque, and hall; which make the visitor feel comfortable to pilgrim in this location. There is also the complement building, consist of the grave manager house, public relax place, park area, and park. The impression is as great as the first president himself when he was still alive.



The tomb is visited by many pilgrims and opened for public. A lot of people come to visit at the time of memorial ‘Khol’ (the day of the death) of the Indonesia’s proclaim. The average of the visitors’ is amount to 150,000 per year, including both domestic and foreign visitors.



The great name of Soekarno invites the tourists to have pilgrimage tour to this graveyard. They feel astonished with the great president Soekarno, so that they pray in this graveyard to ask the benediction.

Penataran Temple

Penataran Temple

Penataran is the largest and most important Hindu temple complex in East Java. It lies just 10 Kilometers north of Blitar on the lower slopes of Mt. Kelud. It had said that this temple was dedicated to the Siva and use for at least three hundred years, from the 12th to 15th centuries. Most of the buildings, which can be seen today, however, were constructed during Majapahit's golden century.

The layout of the temple is similar to that found in the Balinese Pura today. A number of small buildings are scattered within a sacred, walled enclosure, with the largest and most important temple at the rear of the complex, Hindu legends, among them the Ramayana epic, are carved in relief on the temple walls and terrace foundations.

Penataran tourism is the supporting tourism area near the Penataran Temple. In this area, we can find swimming pools for adult and children, also water bike pool, artificial lake and children playground.

Embultuk Cave

Embultuk Cave

Embultuk Cave is a natural cave with beautiful stalagmite and stalactite. Embultuk cave is located in Tumpakkepuh village, Bakung district, to the south of Blitar city with a distance of about 40 kilometers. This cave is about 1500 meters long and about 3 meters wide and high.

In full of stalagmite along the length about 1,5 km, you will feel forbear to stay with impressing atmosphere, underground water voice add the natural impression. The visitors have to use ‘petromak’ lamp and double clothes.

Embultuk cave is the only cave in Blitar that presents its unique stalagmite for the visitors. The tour to this cave is crowded of visitors on school holidays, and the road to the cave has been renovated and can be passed by four-wheel vehicles.

Gebang Palace is Soekarno’s parents’ residence. This building is remaining to historical building in Blitar. This palace is not far from Bung Karno Grave about 2 km southerly, precisely in Sultan Agung street 69 Blitar. In that house, is always held an event called ‘Haul’, which visited by many people, and a lot of artistry that presented in Haul event. Soekarno’s family also commonly meet in this palace.

Jolosutro beach is located in Ringenrejo village, Wates district about 45 km from Blitar city. This beach is one of Blitar beach as part of the South Sea. Jolosutro beach has very beautiful south beach waves that splashing in the sea. Many tourists who want to refresh their mind commonly visit this natural beach. They can swim, sun bathing, fishing, canoing, etc in this beach.

The Historical Of Penataran Temple

Blitar Traditional Cake

Wajik kletik is made by white sticky rice, coconut, white sugar and brown sugar. Wajik kletik such an icon, especially at Blitar's people, beside the taste is good, it wraps with particular paper called klobot. Klobot is kind of corn's layer leaf. The vendor is mostly located at Industrial center on Sultan Agung near at Gebang Ndalem, Blitar District Sananwetan City (+ 1 km east towards the central city of Blitar).

Rambut Monte Lake

Rambut Monte tourism is located in Krisik village, Gandusari district, more or less 30 km from town Blitar. This temple is an altar for Hinduism at Majapahit Empire era. There is clear pool and big water that formed a lake. This Lake has dwelt by hundreds of scarce fish and also sanctify by the local public.
